Are you a kid looking to make a few bucks here and there? Or maybe a parent with a teen who is looking for a job? If so below we have a few good ideas for you to ruminate over.

These are all jobs anyone with determination, a bit of skill and lots of energy – can do. Look them over and let us know which job ideas we missed? Tell me in the comment area.

1. Jewelry Selling -

Kids can be creative creatures by nature and as such, make great artists. If you’re child has a creative flair, he or she can make jewelry on the side, to sell. Where would they sell it? They can sell their jewelry creations at various places, such as locally – online – or simply to family and friends via their social networks. (i.e. Facebook)

Money $$$ – Depending on how they sell it, whether a flat rate per piece, in bulk or sets – the skies the limit. Priced right, they could easily make a few hundred dollars per month.

2. Fixing Stuff -

This is another HUGE opportunity for kids to earn money, as adults many times do not have the time or energy to fix a broken gadget, piece of tech or other household item. Maybe your kid is a whiz at removing and cleaning virus filled laptops, or they can set up your entire household audio and stereo equipment at the blink of an eye – if that’s the case, they can help others with the same issue. Create a flyer and or simply have them mention it on their Facebook pages that they offer this service.

Money $$$ – They can charge by the project or by the hour, can make anywhere from a few hundred per month.

3. Yard Work -

This is a great idea for the kids that love to move around or those that have excess energy. Use the ADD to get them to earn some money. Most neighborhoods have senior adults that can’t mow their own lawns or simply need help with the chore and would gladly pay a local kid to aid in the job. How to get the word out? You can place a flyer in the church bulletin board or better yet – the church website. Let everyone know that your kid is looking for odd jobs and wants to make some money this Summer.

Money $$$ – $10 per hour, $25 per lawn, etc.

4. Website Design -

For the web savvy kids in the house, this is the perfect job for them. There are still lots of people who do not know how to create a website or blog and need the services of others to get it done. You would need to have your kid set up a website for themselves to advertise the service and also to showcase an example of their work. You can’t offer the service of web design and not have a website yourself, so first thing they have to do is create their own website. Make it awesome and make it smart. Meaning it has to have at a minimum – a good design, an About page, a Contact page and a Services page. Then create a Facebook page for it as well and just start getting the word out. Best bet is to niche and go after a certain group of people, whether it’s accountants, hair dressers, plumbers, etc. Go after a certain demographic and it will be easier to market to.

Money $$$ – A good 4 page website could easily go for $99 or more. You can always add upsells to increase the price, such as the creation of a Facebook page for an additional $45 and so on.

5. Writing -

You might not know this but there are quite a few kids earning money writing on the web. Either on their own sites or those of others. If your kid can write or has an affinity for writing, he or she – should hit the web and look for a web-based writing job. Where should they go to look for such a job? I recommend the Problogger Job Board from Darren Rowse, as most established and well known blog owners post here when looking for help. This is your best bet for a good writing job. Look at the requirements and see if you’re a good fit, then simply apply.

Money$$$ – Anywhere from $10 to $30 a post or more.

6. Errand Runner/Pet Sitting -

This is an old classic that still works for earning money on the side. Find out who in your local area has a dog or cat that needs some TLC because the owner is at work all day and can’t do it. Or maybe an older individual who can’t get out and walk his dog like he once did. These are all prime opportunities to help someone and make a few bucks in the process.

Money $$$ – $15 per hour, with a 2 hour minimum.

The ideas are endless, we can go on and on. Hope the six profiled above will get you excited about earning some money and or having your kid earn some money with his or her own job.

QUESTION:

What jobs did you have as a kid? And how did you get customers? Share below.

Cheers,
Missy

It’s that time of the year again when you shower your Mom with gifts and show her just how much she means to you. However with the economy still at a bit of a lull, you might not have the grand budget to spend as you would prefer.

No need to fear as there are lots of good options for Mom that are North of $100 and still pack a wallop in the fun, appealing and or entertaining department. See below three such ideas that your Mom might love and appreciate that won’t leave you reaching for the nearest piggy bank.

3 Good Ways To Pamper Mom Under $100

1. Soothing Spa Massage

What mom doesn’t need a break from the everyday hustle and bustle of taking care of everyone else but herself. One way to pamper your mom this Mother’s Day could take the form of a soothing Spa massage from a nearby boutique. You can even add (in most cases) an accompanying manicure and still keep the total bill under $100. Look around your town for a local masseuse that takes in new patients and shower your mom with the gentle gift of touch.

2. Tickets To Local Ballgame

If your mom is anything like my mom, she loves the local ball team in your city and what better gift than a pair of tickets to an upcoming game. My hometown city is Chicago which makes my mom a Chicago Cubs fan through and through, she loves her Cubbies. If your mom is also a big fan, then treat her accordingly. As for cost? A pair of tickets to decent seating at the local stadium should net just under $100 if you don’t opt for the fancy pants box seats. Go Cubs!

3. Homemade Meal And Dessert

This is an oldie but a goodie and works like charm every time. It’s sort of like Christmas or Thanksgiving where you do all the work – cooking, cleaning and prep – and she gets to simply enjoy it all. This is especially nice if your mom still has young children at home to look after and a much needed break from the kitchen is in order. You could make her favorite meal or cook something entirely new and hope she likes it, or you could have it catered. We kid, do not have it catered – this is suppose to be your DIY treat for mom.

Think outside the box and create a memorable event for mom this Mother’s Day. Hope our three tips above have inspired an idea or three and if so, do come back here and please share.

Reader Question:

What other ways can you think of to pamper Mom for less than $100. Share below.

Guest post:

Catherine writes for an Amazon promotional codes aggregator on the web.

Have you heard of Klip 2 Save? They’re a new coupon clipping service on the web that makes coupon clipping easy. Finally.

The problem I have always had with other coupon clip services is that I couldn’t cherry pick only the coupons I wanted and or had to buy in bulk. With Klip 2 Save you can buy only the coupons you need, and there’s no requirement to buy in bulk or coupons you know you will not be using.

Visit Klip2save

They have a very simple set up, you pick the coupons you want, pay for them and they mail them to you straight away. However another bonus is that they have the Sunday insert coupons on their website as early as Wednesday and ship them asap.

Visit Klip2save

I don’t happen to be a big coupon clipper because it has never been super convenient for me, but am definitely going to give Klip 2 Save a try.

What do you think? Are you going to give Klip 2 Save a try and see if finally someone has made coupon clipping painless.

Calling all first time car buyers (and those with little experience) to feast your dainty little eyes on this cracking used car buyers guide infographic that pieces together the simple steps you need to follow when starting that hunt for your next used car.

This infographic could end up saving you $$$ as it provides simple but inexpensive tips so not to get caught out buying a banger. By just completing a car data check (there are many companies on the web that provide these) it could save you from buying a car with a shady previous history. The last thing you want to be doing is handing over your hard earned cash only to find out that the car of your creams turns out to be your worst nightmare.

A car check uncovers outstanding finance, stolen vehicles and those that have been in major accidents in the past.

The digestible infographic also informs us buyers to make sure we check the simple things such as the tires, brakes and service history. Also we get an education into how important the cars documents actually are such as the service history that proves the car has been well maintained over its lifetime – this actually makes the car more valuable so don’t be signing any documentation before you’ve seen the goods and looked at the documents in full.

Enough of the babbling now – Enjoy the visual date.

This simple but informative infographic has been researched and designed by the teams at Car Finance 247, the UK’s leading car loans brokerage and Netcars.com, the UK’s fastest growing used car classified website.

This is a guest post by Jon from Be Frugal.com

With many of us having multiple computers and devices, savvy consumers are online all day, but many are not aware of to use online resources to save money.

Here are some insider tips for smarter shopping:

Use the tried and true shopping list method. Though it doesn’t require use of technology, plan your shopping with a list of what you need. In addition to using your list when you go to the store, stick to it when you shop online and you’ll end up saving time and money.

When shopping online, use a site’s search feature to quickly find what you need, add it to your cart, cross it off your list and then move on to the next item. You’ll be done with this task quicker than if you drove to the store and you’ll avoid buying things you do not need.

Whenever possible, make all your purchases online. For many reasons, you will save more time and money. Here are a few:

There’s no wasting your time or the gas in your tank driving to the store only to have your shopping trip stalled because you forgot why you went there or you are not able to find what you went there for.

There’s no pressure from a sales staff to buy additional items when you shop online as there is so often when you shop in stores. Whether it’s impulse buys at the cash register or shoes to match that new dress, chances are that you don’t need it.

You escape the embarrassment when you decide at the cash register to put items back. Nobody can see when you empty items out of your electronic cart on the computer. Side note: the electronic cart during online shopping is a helpful guide for you since the automatic total helps you keep your budget in check throughout your shopping.

You can save money because you can quickly and easily find free coupon codes online.

Beyond using online coupon codes, you can save more by earning cash back for free when you shop through a savings website.

For even more savings, pay with a rewards credit card so you can accumulate points or earn more cash back on the same transaction.

If you do plan to go to the store, before you head out, quickly check online for savings opportunities using the shopping list you made. Scan through the weekly ads online to identify sales at stores near you. You’ll save money, gas and time.

Plan your meals ahead and save. Whether you intend to go to the grocery store or dine out, look online for free printable coupons for groceries and restaurants. You can print them out and leave them in your purse or car so you are prepared for the next savings opportunity.

By Jon Lal, founder of coupons & cash back website BeFrugal.com, which offers online coupons in addition to free Cash Back at 2000+ online stores. When you sign up for a free Cash Back account (for a limited time) you can get a $10 bonus in addition to great savings offers.

If your work at home office is in need of regular office supplies and you normally get them at Office Depot or Staples, give the three alternative options listed below a try.

Think outside the box when it comes to getting your office supplies, equipment and even refills as the obvious choice is often times not the best (or least expensive) choice.

Whether you need pens, reams of paper, printer ink or even shrink wrap, the shops below have what you need – at a fraction of the cost of traditional office supply shops with just as good a selection.

1. Dollar General

Your local Dollar General has many things big box stores have at a good or better price without the long line hassles. They have a smaller office supply section, but for a home office their selection should house plenty of what you most need. I’ve gotten pens, calculators, reams of copy paper and more all from my trusty, local and handy Dollar General branch.

2. Walmart

Although not a favorite among those who frequent the store mentioned below, this is still a good option for general work at home office supplies. Remember you can also shop online at Walmart.com, if you don’t want to visit the local store. Walmart has a bigger selection than Dollar General mentioned above and even more so if you opt to shop online.

3. Target

For those who prefer a nicer environment than Walmart offers, then Target would be your next best bet. However expect the prices to be a tad higher and we do mean just a tad. Not only does Target have a decent selection of office supplies they also have a nice selection of office decor and office furniture. Perfect for those who have a newly set up home office or those moving into a new space.

Reader question:

Where do you prefer to get your office supplies from? Tell me below in the comments.
